On September 19-20, the "Nature and Health: A Cells to Society Approach” conference was held at Brown University. Organized by Dr. Diana Grigsby-Toussaint, the event attracted more than 70 thought leaders and practitioners from across the U.S. and around the globe, all gathered to explore the multifaceted relationship between nature and health.
The conference brought together experts from fields as diverse as cognitive psychology, epidemiology, medicine, and engineering. Participants engaged in rich discussions about the conceptualizations of nature and its impact on human health, from the molecular level to societal structures. A highlight of the event was the use of cutting-edge virtual reality technology, which allowed participants to experience a “nature dose” — an innovative way to explore nature’s therapeutic potential.
The Center is proud to support these important and ongoing conversations on the intersections of environment, technology, and health. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Grigsby Toussaint for her leadership and to all those who contributed to making this conference a resounding success.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of health promotion and health equity through interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
