We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Jennifer M. Sacheck will join the Center for Health Promotion and Health Equity as the new Chair of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences, effective February 1, 2025. Dr. Sacheck comes to us with an impressive background, most recently serving as the Sanofi Professor of Prevention and Wellness and Chair of the Exercise and Nutrition Sciences Department at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.

Dr. Sacheck’s research focuses on the intersection of diet, physical activity, and health, with a special emphasis on addressing pediatric health disparities. She is passionate about community-based interventions, particularly those within schools, and her work aligns deeply with our center’s mission to promote health equity through sustainable, evidence-based practices.

Her leadership experience, combined with her research in health disparities and wellness, makes her the perfect fit to lead our department as we continue our commitment to advancing health promotion and equity. We look forward to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
